Following the news that Stevenage caretaker
manager, Mark Sampson, has allegedly been charged by the FA for allegedly using racist language, it is alleged that Phil Wallace is allegedly considering terminating his employment.
The Chairman of the troubled EFL club is allegedly actively drawing up a list of potential replacements having realised that there is only so long he can allow his club to continue to be a laughing stock.
Having spent the last few weeks being largely non-plussed at his team’s on-field peril and insisting that things have improved despite them clearly being worse, Wallace is believed to be ready to act.
It is alleged that Sampson has pleaded for his employment to be continued stating that he could “just apologise like he did last time” and that he has the fanbase on his side because “the listeners of the unofficial club podcast have backed him publicly.”
We have contacted these listeners but neither were available to comment.
A Stevenage supporter, who preferred not to be named, was surprised that the club, who have previously backed Sampson’s questionably numerous alleged indiscretions, seems to have altered their stance on the absolutely alleged incident.
“We got rid of one manager who won stuff because everyone hated us, so I’m glad we finally have someone on board who, whilst results have been dire, gives children someone they can look up to as a role model. Don’t forget that he hasn’t actually been found guilty.”
At this point, The Daily Stevenage would normally wrap up with a pithy, sarcastic outro making light of the latest ridiculous situation we find ourselves in, but frankly, it’s not really a laughing matter.
